Trail Updates:
South Bass Road Open: Forest Road #328 to the South Bass Trailhead is now open. It's about a two hour drive on a deeply rutted dirt road and the road had been washed out from winter storms.
North Kaibab Trail: Horse and Mule Restrictions continue.
Hwy 67 to the North Rim Remains closed and gated: The North Rim Lodge is scheduled to open on May 15th, 2008. The road has been closed since December 7th, 2007 (this is part of the annual North Rim closure).

Body Found in Canyon is Missing 29 year Old
On April 4th a Wildlife Biologist with the Peregrine Fund spotted a body approximately 300 feet below the Canyon Rim at the Trail View Overlook along the West Rim Drive (Hermit Road). The body has since been identified as 29-year-old Eric Stanley, a Canyon resident who had been working for concessionaire Delaware North. Mr. Stanley was reported missing on March 14, 2008.
