North Rim Set to Open Soon!

Highway 67, the only road to the North Rim of Grand Canyon Nat'l Park, is scheduled to open on Thursday, May 15th. By 7:00AM the gate should be unlocked and visitors allowed to re-enter the park for the first time since early December, 2007.

The North Rim is about 1,000 feet higher than the more popular South Rim and therefore a bit cooler too. If driving to the North Rim -  it is about 215 drive miles from the South Rim. North Rim amenities set to open include lodging, campground, dining services, a little grocery store, and a service station.
