Monday, October 6th, at about 4:15 p.m., a man fell approximately 250 feet to his death. A witness reported seeing the man fall from the canyon's edge at the first overlook on the Desert View Drive (could be either Yaki Point or Lipan Point depending on which end of Desert View Drive you start from). Rescuers quickly hiked down to the victim after his body was spotted by helicopter. It was then determined the victim had died from the fall. Little details have yet been provided, and the man's name has not been released.
