Limited Postings for a While...
My apologies, but I will be unable to post new messages for the time being as I have been called away from our home in Arizona to assist my parents in Massachusetts in dealing with various medical issues. I know this is premier hiking season for the Grand Canyon and I too had a permit to venture Rim-2-Rim during mid-October, but alas, I will be unable to make the trip. My father has terminal cancer and Mom is frail due to Parkinson's and I will need to provide whatever assistance I can during this trying time. I wish all canyon travelers well and hope to return to regular postings as soon as possible. I hope viewers of this little blog will be understanding.

I'm sorry to hear about your parents and your cancellation. I'm particularly empathetic and sympathetic as my wife and I had reservations to Phantom Ranch this week-end and had to cancel a couple of weeks ago because of family illnesses.......kids AND parents. Welcome to the sandwhich generation, but this is what makes a trip to the Grand Canyon or others so special, a chance to get away in such a magnificent setting and just enjoy "being". May God bless you and your family and maybe we'll meet on the trail someday.

Hi Bob...Thanks for the comments. Sorry to hear that you too had to cancel your Canyon plans - I guess we both just have to make new plans for 2010!
